Making Tangible is a studio led by Julia Solano and is based in California and Arizona. Our work spans systems design, community architecture, participatory program design and facilitation, foresight, bamboo architecture / design+build and print design and illustration.
BIO
Julia Solano is Community Architect for The The We Want, a program focused on connecting and empowering a new wave of leaders, companies, and technologies that are built on inclusivity, mutualism, sustainability, accountability, and responsible innovation.
She was previously a Partner Program Manager at Armillaria (systems lab for equitable economies), co-founder of Humanitas.AI, Fellow for Omidyar Network’s Exploration and Future Sensing Lab where she designed and launched the Community Infrastructure Fund for Mutual Aid and has worked across design, tech justice, nonprofit, and philanthropy.
Julia has designed and built bamboo and earth spaces for communing – festivals, educational or community centers, healing spaces – in jungles and deserts around the world and creates illustrated books to make natural building and permaculture more accessible.
